Its Like Christmas For Country Lovers

Its Like Christmas For Country Lovers

It's that time again, I am living out of a suitcase and on the run. As you all know I headed down south of the border last weekend to spend some time with my family and some friends that were down there. Rocky Point, Mexico was the place to be last weekend, I haven't had that much fun in awhile. A trip is always a success when you have a group of great people, all on the same page, ready to have fun. From the food we ate, to the sunsets we saw to the fun on the beach we had, all around the perfect trip.
Next on the list: Nashville. I have my bags packed and I am leaving first thing tomorrow morning and heading south to Tennessee for the first time in my life. Why you ask? The CMA Fest, which for you non country lovers is the Country Music Awards Fest. This means almost every single big name artist that you would ever dream of seeing will be performing over the 4 day weekend.
Now if you were to have told me 4 years ago that I would A.) Someday be a huge country fan and B.) Actually plan a trip to Nashville, the heart of country music itself to go to a country music festival, I would have told you you were crazy. I grew up listening to the likes of Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Yes, all of these 70-80's hard rock bands, my dad loves good music and made sure we did too. You can ask any of my friends, I looked at country like it was the most ridiculous thing on earth no way no how would you ever get me to be a fan. And then one day it happened, I won't go into the details but all you need to know is there may have been a boy involved, some dancing and some good times. My heart was won the minute I was taught how to two-step, I was done, sold, gone for the rest of my life. (Sorry Dad) I think there is a little redneck in all of us and it was brought out in me and I just cant turn away. :)
So this trip has been planned for basically a year now, we have sent months planning and figuring it all out and it is finally here. I couldn't be more excited then I am right now. It seriously feels like I am 5 years old on Christmas Eve and I'm just waiting to go to bed to wake up and open presents. I've never really been to the South other than the day I spent in New Orleans when I was 13 because I was on a cruise that just so happened to be porting there. I never have really gotten to explore anything or know anything about it. I have been a West Coast girl my whole life, I'm not sure I've even spoken to many people with a southern accent. This is going to be a whole new world for me and I couldn't be more excited. The only thing I'm not excited for: humidity and no Mexican food. :( But a girl can deal for the next 6 days!
So stay tuned for my trip with two of my best friends as we take on Nashville and all of it's glory this next week! I will update everything I do on the next blog and maybe you'll be there next year :)
